Pal Norte

Calle 13 y Orishas did a song together, although oddly enough only Calle 13 appears in the videos. It is about going North . . Calle 13 are Puerto Rican, which is a part of the United States so they do have the advantage of being American citizens. Orishas are Cubanos, currently living in different European cities . . . but the song to me is powerful.

It is cliche, but holds a lot of true emotion and sentiment for immigrantes.

It also makes me think of how interesting it the way people refer to El Norte.

Se fue al mas alla – Mas alla is heaven . . . this might just be me, but I think it is interesting
