Other random photographs from the ceremony. Also the final two photos are of Sgt. Hilliard who sustained major injuries from an IED explosion while patrolling in Iraq. His wife shared photos of his arms and legs in stitches and pulled up the sleve on his uniform to show the scar left on his right arm. He had shrapnel in all parts of his body and even as he pulled out his medal his fingers were trembling. I can’t imagine what pain and suffering he must have gone through.
